State Report Card for Park Community Charter School

Hello Park Community Charter School Families!
I am so happy to share this recently released State of Wisconsin School Report Card with you!  It is evidence of the hard work that my teachers and our students are doing each day in our school.  It is also evidence that our place based charter curriculum that connects students with real life experiences at Kaukauna Utilities, 1000 Islands Environmental Center and the Grignon Mansion really does work.

Our overall score was a 79.4 which falls in the top end of the Exceeds Expectations catagory which is the second highest score a school can get.  The score is based on a combination of factors in four areas.

  1. Student Achievement - Student scores on the Wisconsin Forward Exam in grades 3 and 4 in English Language Arts and Mathematics are used.  Our score in this area was a 78 out of a possible 100 while the state average score was a 69.9 out of 100.
  2. Student Growth - This area describes how much student knowledge of English Language Arts and Mathematics in the school changes from year to year.  Our score in this area was a 76.5 out of 100 while the state average was a 66 out of 100.
  3. Closing Gaps - This area provides a measure that reflects the statewide goal of having all students improve, while narrowing the achievement and graduation gaps between groups of students. This measure acknowledges schools that raise the performance of traditionally lagging student groups, contributing to the closure of statewide gaps.  Our score in this area was a 69.9 out of 100 while the state average was a 62.1 out of 100.
  4. On-Track and Post Secondary Readiness - This area indicates the success of students in the school in achieving educational milestones that predict post secondary success. It includes the graduation rate and the attendance rate as applicable to the school. It also includes measures of third-grade English Language Arts and eighth grade mathematics achievement as applicable to the school.  For the elementary level the two scores in this area that count are attendance rates and the 3rd grade English Language Arts Achievement score from the Forward Exam.
